imagine dental legacy

Imagine Dental’s new clinic location was to draw from the finish and design elements of their existing locations, but in a new, modern way to enhance their branding.  Maintaining the existing industrial edge with polished concrete floors, concrete block, frosted glass, and warm wood grain frames into a bright and boutique environment.

The blank canvas of the vacant commercial bays had great corner exposure and a voluminous clear ceiling height.  The Client’s desire for curves was included in the planning through a curved reception desk and curved corners in the prominent front areas.  Each operatory suite combines a curved corner in plan with a half-arch in elevation to create a unique and statement entry feature into each suite.  These curves in elevation are complemented by the arched doorways and openings throughout the clinic.

The primarily feather white space is accented with ink black arches and curves, integrated into the architecture and flow of the space.  Wood grains bring warmth into the space, while being placed strategically so custom millwork areas compliment dental casegood pieces without being in the same room or sightline.  Waiting, Reception and Consult areas are defined by repeating ink black finishes on walls, ceiling bulkheads and millwork elements to create visual masses.

The Client group requested open ceilings throughout for an exposed truss and industrial feel.  To manage sound travel and improve privacy, the design team recommended featuring pockets of open ceiling in the front waiting, reception, and consultation areas.  The finished dropped ceilings provide for concealed mechanical and electrical runs above and around the ceilings for a clean and minimalist look and finishing the inside face of the base building perimeter.

The consult room design features smoked glass for privacy.  The room acts as a meeting space for staff and practitioners, consulting room to advise patients, and treatment room for other cosmetic services.  This room is elevated with the custom coloured and printed wall covering, and the semi-recessed hospitality centre.

The final design emphasizes the Client’s brand identity for patients and staff members to experience the unique boutique atmosphere.
