This week is #IIDAweek, following Canadian Thanksg This week is #IIDAweek, following Canadian Thanksgiving, our Principal Mitchell Brooks is so thankful for the IIDA and being part of this design community. Mitchell joined the International Interior Design Association in early 2024 as our studio was doing more international work and looking to take his professional development to the next level. The journey has not disappointed. Having access to advanced Continuing Education sessions and lectures from seasoned Interior Design experts on essential topics such as community engagement, housing, diversity, and futurism was been just one exciting element. The opportunity to take on the IIDA Certified Design Futurist training and program was another career milestone that he has been able to share with his team and colleagues while fitting the practice into how we observe, learn, and action interiors. This study with Mark Bryan and LLID's current work also led him to submit his project for 'Hotel Conversions with Prefabricated Interiors' to the 2026 Kimball International Makers of a Better Future fund, and being selected as a winner alongside Lauren Cole and hosted by Kimball International and Michelle Boolton at NeoCon 2026. Attending NeoCon in Chicago for the first time in 2026 was only made better by the opportunity to meet and connect with other IIDA members and Interior Designers from across the continent. It truly opened his eyes for the full potential and professional nature of what we do, how the environments we create impact people's lives, and how much there is to learn. The learning never stops and the IIDA has been there to provide the learning and advancement opportunities. Connecting with other design professionals and experts across such a multifaceted industry has been the most rewarding part of being an IIDA member, and is what has encouraged him to continue taking his development and career BEYOND to what could be next. Updating a studio short-term rental and converting it to a one-bedroom long-term rental property in the heart of the Mother City. Maintaining plumbing and service locations, we've re-arranged circulation to create privacy and enhance the bathroom layout. Bringing in light, warmth and the local South African flair.
Curves on Curves. Our award-winning design for thi Curves on Curves. Our award-winning design for this dental clinic brought a series of repeating arched and rounded design elements throughout the space to soften open up sightlines throughout the newly built-out space. Rounded feature millwork walls with hidden storage and display niches, rounded reception desks that open up circulation, arched pocket doors, arched washroom doors with closers.
