wood canada edmonton

Wood Canada’s new Edmonton workplace takes advantage of an existing office build-out in a unique building.  Constructed of repurposed rig mats and assembled in a steel structure, the interior spaces feature the exposed wood slat floors and ceilings throughout.  These materials resulted in an authentically industrial environment, which our team enhanced with the Client’s branding and workplace principles for their growing team.

A short move-in timeline and finite budget were met by maintaining much of the previous tenant improvement, already having many features and amenities which were why the Client chose the space.  Open ceilings, wood rig mat floors, a two-storey atrium lunchroom area and windows and views on all sides of the floor plate.

Our Client’s new branding guidelines were brought into the space through colour and patterns in paint, wall covering and custom designed graphics on glass.  Colours and patterns are used consistently on the same elements and areas to define similar functions or uses across the two floors.  Existing elements such as millwork in the lunchroom or lighting throughout were maintained and altered to suit the new team’s needs.  Boardrooms, offices and workstations were upgraded to meet the Client’s workplace and technology standards along with sound masking and access control throughout the space.
